About Me
A journey through music, voice and movement
I’m Christine Zufferey, a singer-songwriter, vocalist, guitarist and teacher. Originally from Valais, Switzerland, I have always been drawn to the possibilities for expression offered by music, the voice and movement.

01 · My journey
A musical journey
After studying film scoring at Berklee College of Music in Boston, I spent fifteen years in the United States. Those years allowed me to explore a variety of musical worlds, particularly Boston’s independent rock scene, as a member of several bands and artistic projects.
I also took part in creative projects combining music and visual arts, and lent my voice to a range of musical productions. Performing, composing and collaborating with other artists have nurtured my curiosity and my desire to explore the many facets of musical expression.
Over the years, singing has taken an increasingly important place in my life. I have studied with different singing teachers since 1995 and pursued a personal exploration of the voice: how it works, what it can do, and how to find a way of expressing ourselves that feels true to who we are.
02 ·My musical project
Mary Zoo
Alongside my teaching, I continue to develop my own musical work through Mary Zoo, my band and artistic projects. It brings together my songs, compositions and a visual universe, explored through albums, live performances and the TALES trilogy.
03 · The voice
Understanding and developing the voice
My interest in the voice led me to train in Modern Singer Technique (Technique du Chanteur Moderne, or TCM). This teaching approach is based on understanding the physiological and acoustic mechanisms of the voice, helping singers develop balanced vocal function and explore their vocal possibilities.
I also hold a Kodály Teaching Diploma, Level I. This approach places singing, listening and musical experience at the heart of learning. It offers tools to progressively develop pitch accuracy, rhythmic awareness, musical ear and an understanding of musical language.
These approaches inform the way I teach: bringing technical understanding together with listening, experience and the pleasure of making music.
04 · Movement
The body in motion
Alongside my musical journey, I trained in the Alexander Technique. This educational approach opened up another field of exploration for me: how we use our bodies, our movement habits, and the relationship between attention and action.
I found it to be a natural extension of my musical work. Singing, playing an instrument or simply moving through daily life all involve coordination between the body, thought and action. Becoming aware of our habits can help us reduce unnecessary effort and discover greater freedom in the way we move.
05 · Sharing and teaching
Teaching and supporting others
Now based in France, in the Marais Poitevin region, I share these experiences through singing and guitar lessons, as well as Alexander Technique sessions and workshops.
I enjoy supporting each person in their own journey, starting with their interests, needs and experience. The aim is not to fit a particular model, but to develop individual potential, refine listening skills and discover a personal way of expressing oneself.
Whether you are discovering your voice, learning to accompany yourself on the guitar or exploring a different relationship with movement, I aim to offer a space where you can learn, experiment and grow with curiosity and confidence.
